Country music legend Dolly Parton appeared in an interview on Thursday with David Wright on ABC’s “Nightline” and things quickly took a political turn.

Wright began by suggesting President Donald Trump was just like the sexist boss in the 1980 movie “9 to 5” that Dolly Parton starred in:

“The sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical portrayed so effectively in that movie by actor Dabney Coleman hasn’t exactly disappeared from the culture. We have a president of the United States who said the things on that bus.”

However, Parton shut the line of questioning down, making it very clear she wasn’t going to discuss politics because she is an entertainer:
“I’m not addressing that. I do not get into that. Of course I have my opinion about everybody and everything, but I learned a long time ago, keep your damn mouth shut if you want to stay in show business.

I’m not in politics. I am an entertainer.”

But Wright still tried to nudge her, telling her, “Yet, you’re also a role model.”

“Yes, I am. That’s why I don’t talk about people,” she fired back.
